Running Brave Distance Project is providing registration services for this camp.
The camp is conducted in support of Gonzaga Prep Boys Cross Country.
Please read this document carefully before completing registration. By checking the waiver acknowledgment box and typing your full legal name in the registration form, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to all terms below on behalf of yourself and the minor participant.
1. Consent to Participate
I am the parent or legal guardian of the registered minor athlete. I consent to my child's participation in all training runs, workouts, transportation to and from Oregon, overnight lodging, meals, outdoor recreation, team activities, and related camp activities organized by Running Brave Distance Project ("Activities").
2. Assumption of Risk
I understand that participation in the GPXC Mount Hood Summer Training Camp involves inherent and unpredictable risks, including but not limited to falls, collisions, overexertion, heat illness, dehydration, altitude, changing weather conditions, uneven terrain, wildlife encounters, transportation by motor vehicle, overnight lodging, recreational activities, sprains, fractures, concussion, serious injury, illness, or death. I knowingly and voluntarily allow my child to participate and assume all risks associated with these Activities to the fullest extent permitted by law.
3. Release and Waiver
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I, for myself and my child, release, discharge, and agree not to sue Running Brave Distance Project, Gonzaga Preparatory School, their coaches, officers, directors, employees, volunteers, agents, sponsors, landowners, event hosts, transportation providers, and affiliated organizations ("Released Parties") from any and all claims, liabilities, demands, damages, losses, or causes of action arising out of or related to participation in the Activities, including claims based on ordinary negligence. This release does not apply to gross negligence, willful misconduct, or any claim that cannot legally be waived.
4. Indemnity
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from any claims, losses, damages, costs, or expenses, including reasonable attorney fees, arising from my child's participation in the Activities.
5. Medical Authorization
In the event of injury, illness, or emergency, I authorize Running Brave Distance Project, its coaches, volunteers, and emergency personnel to obtain emergency medical evaluation and treatment for my child, including first aid, transportation, treatment by licensed medical personnel, and hospital care if needed. I understand that every reasonable effort will be made to contact me before treatment when practical, but emergency medical care may proceed without delay if necessary for my child's safety. I accept responsibility for all medical costs incurred.
6. Concussion Acknowledgment
I acknowledge that concussion and other brain injuries can occur during running, hiking, recreation, transportation, or other camp activities through falls, collisions, or other incidents. I understand that if my child shows signs or symptoms of a concussion or other serious injury, participation will stop immediately and medical evaluation will be required before returning to camp activities. I agree to inform camp staff of any known prior concussion, head injury, medical condition, or circumstance that could affect my child's safe participation.
7. Photo and Video Release
I grant Running Brave Distance Project permission to photograph, video record, and otherwise capture my child's image, voice, and likeness during camp Activities and to use those materials for program-related purposes including publicity, promotion, website content, social media, newsletters, fundraising, and internal communications without compensation. I understand that these materials may be shared publicly. This permission may be revoked in writing for future use only.
8. Camp Rules and Conduct
I understand that my child is expected to follow all coach instructions, camp rules, safety policies, lodging expectations, transportation procedures, and conduct standards throughout the camp. I understand that unsafe, disruptive, or inappropriate behavior may result in disciplinary action, removal from an activity, or dismissal from camp at my expense if necessary.
9. Electronics Policy
I understand that electronic devices may be collected during designated portions of camp and returned during scheduled communication periods established by the coaching staff. This policy is intended to encourage team interaction, athlete well-being, and full participation in the camp experience.
10. Fees and Cancellation
I understand that camp registration fees are non-refundable except in the event that Running Brave Distance Project cancels the camp. If a participant withdraws after registering, refunds, if any, will be determined at the discretion of Running Brave Distance Project based upon expenses already incurred.
11. Severability and Governing Law
If any provision of this agreement is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect to the fullest extent permitted by law. This agreement shall be governed by and interpreted under the laws of the State of Washington.
